Research interest
I am a passionate ecologist and I love to find patterns in the interactions of species and their environment. To describe those patterns maths is an important tool to translate them into a model. That is why I learned to enjoy building a mathematical model that encompasses an ecological phenomenon. At TUM, it is my goal to model the connectivity of cities to different functional groups of animals. Our model should incoporate the spatial properties of cities and the traits of different functional groups of animals. Finally, we want to identify areas of high resistance to animal movement and to assess which animals could colonize an urban habitat. Apart from modelling, I very much enjoy botanical field work.
